Senior Care
Pets age faster than humans. Dogs are entering their senior years by age 7 and cats by age 10! The goal of senior care is to detect and manage disease early and to keep aging pets comfortable. Dental and arthritis pain are subtle and often overlooked since pets can’t tell us what is wrong. Twice-yearly exams are recommended for senior pets to catch any health or pain level changes early.
To evaluate for unseen (internal) disease, we advocate comprehensive senior care, which consists of bloodwork, urinalysis, survey radiographs and ultrasound in addition to the twice yearly physical exam. In most cases, early detection and treatment can delay the progression of disease and provide a better quality of life for your pet.
